Lourdes MBA students travel to Dubai for immersion experience

In January, 13 Lourdes University students and two faculty completed an international immersion in Dubai, part of the United Arab Emirates. The international immersion is a component of the Lourdes Master of Business Administration program. In the past several years, graduate students have learned how business is conducted in several countries including England, South Africa, Brazil, China and Italy.

While in Dubai, MBA students benefited from several tours and informational visits of companies headquartered in the City of Gold. One of those tours featured a corporate connection with international colleagues. Master of Organizational Leadership student Monica Morales works as an Inside Sales Specialist at Schindler Elevator Corporation in Holland, Ohio. In Dubai, she and her MBA peers toured the company’s headquarters and learned in-depth about the similarities and differences of conducting business in the Middle East and the U.S.

“It was beneficial to learn about Dubai’s strategic business ideas and how business is conducted and then compare it to how it is done in the United States. The overall trip was very eye opening overall and I truly felt blessed to gain my own perspective of how life exists in another part of the world,” says Ms. Morales.
