Since 2003, Lourdes University criminal justice majors have presented at the Ohio Council of Criminal Justice Education research conference. In April, Lourdes students were pleased to participate in and host the conference, welcoming students from nine Ohio colleges and universities with Lucas County Sheriff John Tharp serving as keynote speaker.

Dale Lanigan, Ed.D., Chair of the Lourdes Sociology and Justice Studies department and OCCJE President, organized the event. “Presenting at the OCCJE affords our criminal justice majors the opportunity to broaden their real-world experience and network with peers,” says Dr. Lanigan.
