“As a native Chicagoan and former resident of Kansas City, Kansas, I’m looking forward to being a part of an urban community both personally and professionally. My family is looking forward to continuing our small town living but now have direct access to all of the amenities and culture associate with living near an urban area. I worked with Mercy Health professionals at campuses in both Toledo and Tiffin to develop articulation agreements and clinical placements while I was at Heidelberg. Mercy College’s strong healthcare focus and it being part of the largest health system in Ohio, Mercy Health, are very appealing to me. I’m very eager to listen, learn and build strong connections within and beyond academic affairs. This is an exciting time for the college and I look forward to working with college and Mercy Health colleagues to support the great programs we have and bring new initiatives to fruition as well,” said Dr. Bates.
Dr. Bates, his wife and two children will be relocating to the Toledo area.
